Update wiring

Your home may be in need of an electrical wiring upgrade. If your home’s electrical system is made up of knob and tube or aluminum wiring, then you should investigate electrical upgrading or rewiring services.

Knob and tube wiring should be replaced due to the hazardous risk of it being open wiring. This type of wiring can more easily come into contact with you, your storage in attics or crawlspaces, and any pesky animals like squirrels or birds that may get into your home from time to time which could lead to fires.

In these very old electrical systems you also run the risk of over heating the wires which should trip the breaker or blow a fuse, but could also cause fires due to the breaker/fuse malfunction due to age. Most of these systems would only allocate the bare minimum of outlets in a room because at the time of installation most entertainment and appliance of today did not exist, so the electrical loads were very low.

Panel changes

In today's homes there are a number of reasons to upgrade your panel. There is the fear of overloading circuits while having faulty breakers. This could be due to the age of breakers and/or the outdated wiring of the panel.

You may also be like most home owners and have multiple entertainment sources running at the same time and you can't keep your breakers from tripping. There is  potential for this to be alleviated by simply upgrading your panel to more efficiently service your home.

In a lot of cases you will also clean up old wiring that is no longer in use such as Radiant heat wiring, space heater wiring or other 110/220 receptacles that still hold a current but are not being used. Removing this type of wiring will save space in your panel, remove access to high voltage outlets that could injury someone, prevent frayed wiring in the walls from being an issue, and provide comfort in knowing that you have a base of all your electrical accounted and any excess circuits have been removed.

My promise is that your service panel upgrade will be clean, efficient and worry free when I leave. When I complete your service panel upgrade, I will work with you to teach you how to use your panel, keep it protected, and prevent any harm that comes to it.
